NeighborhoodGeeks was started by Joseph Mancuso to increase access to educational resources for college STEM students. Joseph Mancuso is a biochemistry major at Hofstra University. He has a passion for chemistry and hopes to earn his Ph.D. in chemical biology. He currently works as a researcher in Dr. Ronald P. D’Amelia’s polymer synthesis and characterization laboratory. In working with Dr. D’Amelia, he has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals on copolymers of polyvinyl pyrrolidone and has presented his research at local, state, and national meetings as a member of the American Chemical Society. He has interned for the largest healthcare conglomerate in New York State where he worked alongside Dr. Louis Potters, an internationally renowned expert in the field of oncology. He started NeighborhoodGeeks to make the college level STEM curriculum more accessible and understandable to all people regardless of academic background. His mission is to bring to life the subjects that he is passionate about.
